Reuben is a winner!

Happiness is your Athlete of the Day ribbon in one hand and a sausage in the other, thinks Reuben.
What glory has been heaped upon us recently.

Tilly tells it like it is

In the bathroom, this morning:

Tilly: 'Silly old mummy, silly old mummy'.
Me: 'I'm not a silly old mummy.'
Tilly, considering: 'You're not rusty, but you are old.'

Cheers Tilly.  Won't advertise your services as a motivational coach just yet, hey?

Baby Kiwi

Typical kiwi chick, cute and fluffy but an endangered species

Typical Kiwis, less cute and fluffy but like their avian

Hello again, Hong Kong

Oooh, big sense of déjà vu. About a year and six weeks ago there I was, blogging from Hong Kong airport en route to NZ. And here we are again, waiting at Gate 33 this time for the second leg of our flight back to Auckland.

Doris rides again

Happiness is: a comfortable lap and an Easter egg.  Tilly basks in post-chocolate consumption blissfullness

Belated happy Easter all.  Was the Easter bunny kind to you this year?

Doris goes to the Far North

Doris is our 21-year-old campervan, and what she lacks in style (grimy pink carpet, blue upholstery, beige fabric lining to walls and roof, waterstained and a bit saggy in places) she more than makes up for in guts and determination.

My bottom has a close encounter with Graham Henry

So.  There I am walking back from the library in St Heliers with the children this week and we stop off at the playground by the beach when I spot a face I recognise sitting at one of the picnic tables.*

We Rejoin The Propertied Classes

Yes folks, after eight months of being tenants we have become homeowners again as of today.  Yay!
