Table manners and some nice photos...

Harriet is normally fairly angelic when it comes to sleeping through, but on Saturday and Sunday nights even the usual failsafe of the NZ politics podcast droning in the background didn't have its usual effect of boring her back to sleep when she woke up in the wee small hours.  She has been a bit snotty over the last few weeks and not eating that much, and we wondered if she was actually waking up because she was hungry.

So when she showed an interest in what Reuben and Tilly were having for tea last night, we didn't try to stop her.

Spaghetti?  Yes please!

And she slept all the way through the night.  Behold the power of pesto!  You might remember she showed an early interest in pesto when she'd just started on solids: see this blog post.

Hmmm... What's this exotic stuff they're trying to keep from me?

Yum, yum...   Although it's a bit wiggly

Pesto!

Separately, it's the school hols over here.  Despite being the middle of winter the weather is being mostly kind to us.  Reuben and Tilly were showing off their artistic bents on the beach the other evening.  Photos below taken by them.

The sun worshipper

Is it a bird? Is it a plane?… No, it's Super Baby!

Wow! A stick!

Tomorrow we're off to Queenstown to give the snow a go.  First time back on skis for Hannah and me since Reuben was 9 months old, and first time ever for R&T.  Fingers crossed for bright days and fresh snow.
