Flying high

Tilly in charge of steering, Reuben offering helpful advice
We had some gorgeous winter weather one weekend recently (we've also had lots of rain this winter in case you're feeling too jealous) so went down to our local beach with the children in the afternoon and took the kites with us.

Tilly was very excited about controlling a kite for the first time.  It was a pretty windy day too so we had to watch out that it didn't blow into the palm trees.

See that look of concentration... this is a serious business!

Harriet fell asleep while I was carrying her along the beach, but that didn't stop her joining in.  We tested her palmar reflex and discovered it was in full working order.  Unconsciousness was no barrier to her maintaining a good grip on the kite for about a minute.  (Then she let go and Dave had to chase the kite along the beach!).
