Tilly doesn't see the point in monogamy
I'm having a chat with Tilly this morning about what she wants to do when she grows up.
T: I'm going to be a doctor and a builder. I'll be a builder at weekends and a doctor on work days.
H:What kind of things do you think you'll build Tilly?
T: I'm going to build cars.
H: That's interesting. You know, Reuben wants to be a mechanic and an inventor. Mechanics work with engines and machines. Maybe you and Reuben could build cars together.
T: Aaaand (mounting excitement), maybe we could get married!
H: (Glossing over the most obvious barrier to this) But I thought you were going to marry Antoni.
T: I am going to marry Antoni but I can marry Reuben too.
H: Do you know Tilly, if you get married you're only allowed to get married to one person at a time.
Slight pause
T: (Sounding hopeful) But you're allowed to swap around a bit.
Thinking about this since, I realise that Tilly has only previously said she's going to live with Antoni. So maybe she feels technically free to marry Reuben too? At any rate, she told me this afternoon that she was practicing getting married.
H: Oh, right, how are you practicing that Tilly?
T: (gets down one knee and holds out a hand) Tilly Elizabeth Semple Burdekin .... I'm being the man and that's what they will say to me.
She's clearly got it all worked out!
