It was mothers' day here in NZ the weekend before last and I was given this amazing card by Reuben.
1, 2, 3, everyone say 'Aaaahh'. Sentiment aside, I want to know where I can buy the dress as it really is pretty cool. I was also treated to breakfast in bed: 2 large fluffy pancakes with cream cheese and apricot jam and a thick slice of brioche and honey (Reuben and Tilly had wanted to give me brioche and Marmite as they know I love the brown stuff, but fortunately Dave was on hand to steer them away from that option!). That was quite a lot of carbohydrate on one plate, but as it turned out they hung around on the bed to 'help' and quite a lot of the breakfast disappeared into them.
The mothers' day weekend was better than the weekend just gone, part of which I spent in hospital with mastitis (and if you've no experience of that, all you need to know is 'ow'). Rather annoying to end up there having avoided the place so successfully when giving birth but at least it was only for 24 hours. Other than that, life with three children has been going ok. Reuben is still coping with the responsibility of two younger siblings and Tilly is still a very doting big sister, and has quickly picked up the finer nuances of caring for a baby:
Harriet: Waaaaaaaaah!
Tilly: Mummy! The baby's crying! She wants a boob!
Tilly has also managed to create a brand new verb. On another occasion we had:
Harriet: Waaaaaaaaah!
Tilly: Mummy! The baby's crying! She needs to be boobed!
