More fun with the Pastafarians

Sunday lunch al fresco.  Beans, courgette, tomatoes and basil from the garden.  If only we had space for a vineyard...

We were so inspired by our pasta-making experience a couple of weeks ago, that we decided to give the pasta machine another outing today, and this time we let the children help.


Surprisingly, pasta was produced with very little mess, although they discovered that they needed to use lots of muscle to get the pasta through the rollers.





Then we got down to the nitty-gritty of enjoying it and introduced Harriet to the delights of the 'tug of pasta'.  Apologies to all sticklers for etiquette, but in this house, we play with our food.  And lick the plate if something was particularly delish.

Letting Harriet (aka Little Miss Fussy) win each time was an effective way of getting her to clear her plate!


Tilly didn't need encouragement to eat, but she's a past master at the game so she wanted a turn too:
